Overview

A Top Quality Cretodus crassidens, an extinct Mackerel shark, tooth from Denton Co., Texas. An October Fossil of the Month. An excellent example of this Lower Cretaceous Eagle Ford Fm. tooth. These massive teeth have a design that includes a large / heavy root with high root face, a narrow crown width, and broad side cusps. This is the big shark tooth in Texas Cretaceous deposits which can reach 2.6". This is a lateral tooth with perfect side cusps. Authenticity guaranteed. Perfect tooth. I don't see many of these teeth.

This catalog contains excellent teeth from an extinct Mackerel shark - Cretodus crassidens. These teeth were collected from the Eagle Ford Formation, Denton Co. All teeth are complete and well preserved.

Eagle Ford Group  - The Eagle Ford Group is a sedimentary rock formation deposited during the Cenomanian and Turonian ages (~93 MYA)  of the Late Cretaceous that covers much central Texas. Eagle Ford Group contains the following fossil bearing units.

  • South Bosque Shale is a member of the Eagle Ford Group in Central Texas
