An Ultra Rare, TOP QUALITY Parotodus benedeni, the False Mako, tooth from Pyramid Hill, Kern County, California. This tooth has a nice tan colored enamel and a very massive root. The crown enamel has good luster and sharp edges. High quality enamel. Note - the right root end was professionally repaired. It is difficult to see any repair. Note - This is an early Miocene (22 MYA) tooth from the Jewitt Sand Formation, An extremely difficult tooth to locate! Authenticity guaranteed. One of the rarest P. benedeni teeth.

Below is a very rare Parotodus tooth from an early Miocene site  These teeth exhibit an incredibly massive root and a heavy crown that is only characteristic to this unique species. They were large sharks and it is always a challenge to find their teeth. Here's your chance to own a rare P. benedeni from the Sharktooth Hill area. This tooth actually comes from a small collection of early Miocene, Jewitt Sand Formation (22 MYA) teeth - much rarer than Sharktooth Hill teeth. Definitely one of the rarest Parotodus benedeni teeth. A very rare specimen from Pyramid Hill, Kern County, California.
