Galeocerdo cuvier, the extant Tiger shark, lives today in all tropical waters and is known to attack man. These are large sharks (up to 18 feet in length) that typically prey on fish, marine mammals and marine reptiles. One of the few sharks that can prey on marine turtles. The Bone Valley Galeocerdo cuvier teeth are Miocene age (10-15 million years ago). These colorful teeth are highly sought after by collectors.

Bone Valley - Excellent shark teeth are recovered from the Bone Valley Fm. in Florida. These teeth can be very colorful and well preserved. The Bone Valley Fm. is a middle to late Miocene deposit in central Florida. The phosphate mining operations in Polk Co. has uncovered the majority Bone Valley fossils. Access to the phosphate mine dumps is very limited and appears to be highly restricted to a few fossil club entries. Exceptional Bone Valley Fm. shark teeth are also recovered offshore Golden Beach and Venice Beach.

Note - all teeth sizes are slant height unless otherwise noted.
