Otodus chubutensis (Lee Creek)
A TOP QUALITY, Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth - an upper jaw lateral tooth from Aurora, No. Carolina. This Chubutensis has an incredible tan colored crown with a golden band at the base and an incredible brown bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Exceptional color! The bourlette looks great, and is complete. The serrations are sharp with an excllent tip serration. The root is an excellent white color with no hydration cracks and a small chip. This Chubutensis was found in the Pungo River Formation, Lee Creek mine, NC (Miocene age = 14.5 MYA). A fantastic example of a classic Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth considering the shape, color, and preservation. An excellent tooth from the old days at Lee Creek mine! NO repair or restoration.
