Please note that the Scyphocrinites crinoids were floating crinoids and their holdfast was actually an air bladder that supported multiple stems and calyx. Moroccan Silurian crinoids - Unlike today's sea lilies which resemble flowers fastened to the seafloor which are crowned with a pinwheel of frilled arms. The Scyphocrinites crinoid was a floating variety which was attached to a holdfast air bladder that supported multiple stems and calyx ("flower").
