This ivory carving is made from a real 2-5/8" diamenter Mammuthus primigenius tusk from Siberia. It features a 3D carving of a mother mammoth and her cub. Incredible detail captured and is 100% natural including color. The base is a highly polished burl wood. This tusk section has excellent color and shine. The Wooly Mammoth is an extinct species of mammoth that lived during the Ice Age. The wooly mammoth was similar in size to the modern African Elephant. Male Wooly Mammoth could approach 7000 lbs while the female would approach 5000 lbs. in weight. The Wooly Mammoth are known for their large curved tusks. Their tusks were used for manipulating objects, fighting, and foraging.
