A rare, EXTRA LARGE, Top Quality Columian Mammoth tooth (Mammuthus columbi), an early elephant molar found in Somervell Co., Texas. Mammoths were present in this area during the Late Pleistocene Ice Age. Fantastic natural tan color! An excellent molar with a nicely articulated chewing surface. The molar chewing surface is 8-1/2" in length. A large, complete root. Completely fossilized. Weighs 13.75 lbs. with stand. No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed. An excellent collectors specimen and a very attractive display piece. An incredibly articulated tooth mounted on a custom steel stand. A beautifully preserved Columian Mammoth tooth (Mammuthus columbi) found in Texas. An extinct elephant ancestor. The Columbian mammoth is an extinct species of mammoth that inhabited the Americas as far north as the Northern United States and as far south as Costa Rica during the Pleistocene epoch. It was one of the last in a line of mammoth species.
