A GEM Quality Torvosaurus tanneri tooth from the Morrison Formation. A September Fossil of the Month. This completeTorvosaurus crown measures 1-516". The enamel is highest quality. Excellent rich black color. Exceptional posterior and anterior serrations. Note - the anterior carina end about 1/2 of the way down from the tip. Fantastic overall enamel condition and serrations. No repair or restoration. Torvosaurus was a large predator during the late Jurassic with large teeth designed to slash predators. Legally collected on private land in the Morrison Fm., Johnson Co., Wyoming. Authenticity guaranteed.  Note - a Gem case display is included. A very difficult species to find!

Torvosaurus tanneri or "savage lizard" was the large predator of the late Jurassic period. This monster reached lengths of approximately 30 feet and reached weights approaching 8000 pounds. Their teeth were serrated and were used to dine on Stegosaurus, Diplodicus, etc. A must have item for dinosaur collectors. Fossil remains in teeth, bones, and claws. All of which are very rare and extremely difficult to locate. These top quality specimens were all legally collected from private lands in the northwestern US. Late Cretaceous, Morrison Fm., 155-145 MYA. Authenticity guaranteed.
